Disclosures

The Right Goodbye is free to use, and we believe you should know exactly how we operate before you rely on anything here. Everything below is written to be read, not skimmed past.

How The Right Goodbye makes money

We accept no placement fees from funeral homes, and no funeral home can pay to be recommended, listed, or ranked. Some links on our caskets and urns page are affiliate links: if you purchase through them, the retailer may pay The Right Goodbye a commission at no additional cost to you. Retailers cannot pay for placement either — we list what saves families the most. If we introduce any other paid service (such as our concierge, where we make calls on your behalf for a stated flat fee), the price and what it includes will be shown plainly before you commit to anything. This disclosure is provided in accordance with the FTC's guidelines on endorsements (16 CFR Part 255).

About our price comparisons

The ranges shown in your Fair Price Review are estimates for educational purposes, drawn from funeral providers' published price lists, published cost surveys, and quotes families have shared with us. They are not quotes, offers, or appraisals; prices change, every arrangement is different, and cemetery, cash-advance, and cash-disbursement items vary separately. A price above the typical range is not an accusation against any provider — providers differ in facilities, services, and circumstances. Always confirm current prices directly with providers before making decisions.

Not legal advice

The Right Goodbye describes consumer protections under the FTC Funeral Rule and related law, and offers suggested wording for conversations with providers. This is general information, not legal advice, and The Right Goodbye is not a law firm. Rules can have exceptions, and some states impose additional or different requirements. If you believe your rights have been violated, you can file a complaint with the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov or contact your state's funeral licensing board or an attorney.

Not a funeral provider

The Right Goodbye is not a funeral home, crematory, or funeral establishment, and does not itself arrange, direct, or perform funeral goods or services. Arrangements are always made between your family and the licensed provider you choose.
